*This is a local Fort Worth position. Hybrid schedule on weekly basis will be 3 days in office and 2 days remote.

As a Software Developer III, you will:

Work with business representatives, analysts, and team members to design, create, and modify programs used to obtain the goals of EECU.

Actively participate in Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives, to ensure timely delivery of high-quality solutions while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Need to have a solid understanding and application of object-oriented architecture and design principles are essential for this role. 

Require extensive experience with all phases of the software development life cycle, including hands-on experience in design, development, testing, and Agile development practices.

Essential Functions:

  • Assist the Applications Architect in developing database architectures, coding standards, quality assurance policies and procedures.
  • Assist the Applications Architect to create models for new database development and/or changes to existing ones.
  • Makes recommendations relative to security and soundness of business applications.  

Requirements Gathering and Design:

  • Designs and codes screen layouts, graphical user interfaces, printed outputs, and interfaces with other systems.
  • Consults with users to gather information about program needs, objectives, functions, input/output requirements.
  • Consults with users to prototype, refine, test, and debug programs to meet needs.
  • Analyzes, defines, and documents requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, hardware and operating system environment, interfaces with other systems, internal and external checks and controls, and outputs.
  • Analyzes and estimates feasibility, costs, time, and compatibility with hardware and other programs.
  • Writes documentation or reviews documentation written by others that describes installation and procedures.
  • Designs, creates, and modifies objects and database structures.

Implementation and testing:

  • Installs and tests programs for users.
  • Writes and maintains technical specifications.
  • Converts designs and specifications into computer code.
  • Compiles code into programs and corrects errors detected in compile process.
  • Creates test transactions and runs tests to find errors and confirm programs meet specifications.
  • Analyzes code to find causes of errors and revises programs.
  • Trains end users or technical support staff to use programs.

Support and Evolution:

  • Monitors performance of programs after implementation.
  • Provides technical assistance by responding to inquiries from others regarding errors, problems, or questions about programs.
  • Respond to and resolve database access and performance issues.
  • Monitor database system details within the database, including stored procedures and execution time, and present efficiency improvements to the manager and team.
  • Assist in designing and implement redundant systems, policies, and procedures for disaster recovery and data archiving to ensure effective protection and integrity of data assets.
  • Plan and coordinate data migrations between systems.
  • Supports corporate projects, department projects, and Enhancement project initiatives.

Candidates should possess the following knowledge and experience:

  • Master’s Degree in Information Technology or equivalent experience preferred
  • Windows and Web programming experience
  • Microsoft or other development certifications preferred
  • Logical, analytical problem solver
  • Highly self-motived and directed.
  • Ability to absorb new ideas and concepts quickly
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving abilities
  • Effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Ability to conduct research into software development and delivery concepts, as well as technical application issues
  • Ability to present ideas in a business-friendly and user-friendly language
  • Very strong customer service orientation
  • Excellent written, oral, interpersonal, and presentational skills
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative

  • Responsible for compliance of all Federal and State rules and regulations pertaining but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering, Bank Bribery Act, NCUA Privacy Regulations, Reg E and Reg CC. Required to attend initial and ongoing annual Bank Secrecy Act training.
