Family and Access Program Coordinator
Position Description?
The Coordinator provides project and administrative support to Family and Access programs and events managed by the education team. Under the direction of the Manager of Family and Access Programs, the Coordinator teaches diverse audiences, provides logistical support for programs, and assists with family and access initiatives and resources. Works collaboratively with the Manager of Family and Access Programs to implement public experiences based on the collection and exhibitions for family and access audiences, including visitors of all ages and abilities.

Responsibilities??

Assists with the facilitation of Family and Access programs and events.?

Supports the Manager of Family and Access Programs to brainstorm, assemble supplies, and implement family and access programs, including but not limited to Itty-Bitty Art, Toddler Studio, Carter Playdate, Family Workshop, Art Tales, Spring Break, Sensory Explorations, Meet Up at the Museum, Connect to Art, Artful Moments, and Close Encounters.

Collaborates with the Manager of Family and Access Programs to assist with visitor surveys and department reporting related to audience experience goals for family and access programming.

Supports program registration through Eventbrite including creating and editing events, managing ticketing and wait lists, monitoring requests for ASL interpretation and dietary accommodations, and communicating with attendees.

Supports family and access program logistics by updating EventPro software and submitting Facilities requests.

Participates in a variety of cross-departmental meetings focused on program logistics, goals, and customer service.?

Maintains and organizes Education spaces, including family and access material storage and department supply closet, replacing materials when necessary.?

Contributes to the continued development and promotion of the Museum’s mission, vision, values, and brand.?

Maintain confidentiality regarding all sensitive museum information; other duties as assigned.?

Skills and Requirements?

Proficient with Office 365, especially Word, PowerPoint and Excel

Excellent organizational, proofreading, and communication skills (oral, written, and interpersonal)

Available to work regular weekends and evenings including but not limited to first and third Saturdays and at least two Thursday evenings per year, to support department programs?

Familiarity of working within databases or registration websites; examples include EventPro and Eventbrite
-
Bilingual (English/Spanish) encouraged to apply, but not required

Qualifications/Education?
-
Associate, B.A. degree, or equivalent; art history, special education, art education, studio art, or related field; degree in active progress is considered

One to three years’ experience teaching or working with a wide range of audiences in an organized setting

Available to work nights and weekends as scheduled

Physically able to stand for long periods, able to bend and/or stoop, climb, and lift up to 25 lbs. to perform tasks that may be required during Museum operations
