DESCRIPTION:The morning will kick off with a networking session and FREE breakfast. Immediately following the breakfast\, the Women's Policy Forum 9th Annual Emerging Issues Symposium and The Fort Worth Report will hold timely and vital conversations on the topic of mental health and mental wellness in Tarrant County. The Fort Worth Report's Candid Conversations community event series continues: How can Tarrant County best support youth mental health? Susan Garnett\, executive director of MHMR will be the moderator for this discussion. Panelists include: Dr. Nanette Allison\, child and adolescent psychiatrist Diana Davis\, clinical director at Alliance for Children Manvi Srivastava\, HOPE youth program member Michael Steinert\, Fort Worth ISD assistant superintendent The morning will continue with: An analysis on the state of mental health access from well-regarded professionals in the field\, featuring JPS and Cook Children's. Moving to trauma-informed care was a game changer in mental health services in Tarrant County\; we look at how we got there and what's ahead\, featuring collaborations with the Fort Worth Police Department and MedStar. A discussion on the changes in policy and funding needed to happen to make a difference\, featuring Texas Health and Human Services Commission and the National Alliance of Mental Illness. And a closing call to action by former mayor Kenneth Barr.
